Marissa is a new midwife and she joined Columbia Birth Center as a Midwifery Fellow while she completed her credentialing process. She is now a licensed midwife in the state of Washington. Marissa graduated from Southwest Technical College with a degree in Midwifery.

Marissa’s family recently moved to Washington from Wisconsin at the beginning of 2025. Marissa has worked in a busy birth center and a homebirth practice. She has experience in almost every role at a birth center, from administrative work to clinical practice.

Marissa knew in her teenage years that motherhood and midwifery care was where she was meant to be. Her first birth was to a premature baby via c-section and this is what truly started her on the journey to birth work and finding her passion for helping others in the childbearing year. Marissa had an HBAC (Home Birth After Cesarean) in 2021 with her second baby.

Marissa worked as a CNA before becoming a midwife. Marissa is a certified birth & bereavement doula, assistant midwife, and baby wearing educator. She’s passionate about providing the best care to every family she meets.
